MONTREAL –
Abdul Kamane (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) and
Ibrahim Ngom (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) each scored 18 points and the Bishop's Gaiters cut a 23-point McGill lead to just two midway through the fourth quarter but it was as close as they got; McGill hung on for a 79-73 victory on Saturday night in Montreal.
The loss drops Bishop's to 2-3 while McGill improves to 5-1 including two victories over the Gaiters as the first semester of RSEQ University men's basketball wraps up.
Nervens Demosthene (Terrebonne, Que./Cegep de Montmorency) scored 15 points to round out the Gaiters in double figures. Kamane also added 10 rebounds to complete the "double-double".
For McGill Quarry White scored 20 points to lead all scorers in the win. All five starters scored in double figures.
Bishop's is next in action at the UQAM holiday tournament between Christmas and New Year's. They return to RSEQ action on Thursday, Jan. 16 when they host Laval.
