Marie-Pierre Beaudoin (Ottawa, Ont./John McCrae SS) and
Penelope Cabana (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) scored for the Bishop's Gaiters on Friday night; however, the UQTR Patriotes also scored twice, including a penalty kick in the 89
th minute to tie the game 2-2. The RSEQ University women's soccer match-up was the kickoff to the Celebration of Women in Sport event at the Lennoxville institution.
Bishop's got on the board first when Beaudoin banged home a loose ball in the 12
th minute.
UQTR answered in the 33
rd minute to tie the game 1-1 going into halftime.
Bishop's responded and were awarded a penalty in the 59
th minute. Cabana made no mistake.
The Gaiters seemed poised to hold on down the stretch, but it was not to be. After a close call that awarded UQTR a corner kick, Bishop's was assessed a handball in the box. Alexa Dallaire made no mistake for the visitors and knotted the game at two in the dying moments.

Next up, the Gaiters (1-4-2) face conference-leading UQAM (6-0-0) on Sunday at 7 p.m. in Montreal.
Prior to Friday's game, the Gaiters walked onto the pitch with members of their Junior Gaiters program as part of the Celebration of Women in Sport.
Erin Patrick '02, a former standout for the Gaiters and a two-time CIAU all-Canadian, was in attendance as she will be inducted into the Bishop's Wall of Distinction on Saturday, another part of the celebration.
