LENNOXVILLE, Que. – The Bishop's Gaiters erased a 16-point third-quarter deficit and tied the game with two minutes remaining but it was as close as they got and McGill went onto a 62-58 victory on Saturday night in RSEQ University Women's Basketball action in Lennoxville, Que.

Jael Kabunda (Montreal, Que./College Montmorency) led the Gaiters with her fourth double-double in five games as she scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Fellow freshman
Deborah Aboagye (Montreal, Que.) also put up 13 while
Metchline Gabelus (Montreal, Que./Champlain College St-Lambert) added 12 and RSEQ leading-scorer
Amaiquen Siciliano (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Velez Sarsfield) rounded out the Gaiters in double figures with 10 points in 39 minutes.
Nadege Pluviose led all scorers with 18 points in the win for McGill.
Bishop's shot themselves in the foot going just 6-18 from the free-throw line and were only able to score nine points off of 21 McGill turnovers. The Martlets scored 15 off just 13 Bishop's miscues.
The Gaiters trailed early, down 17-13 after 10 minutes and 38-24 at halftime but a big 18-10 third quarter got Bishop's within striking distance. Momentum shifted and the home crowd came alive as the Gaiters went on a fourth quarter run to even the game with two minutes reaming. McGill was able to compose themselves and avenge Thursday night's loss as they held on for the 62-58 win.
Bishop's falls to 8-5 but remains in second place in the conference while McGill improves to 6-8 and is four points up on Concordia for the final playoff spot. This was the fourth and final meeting between the teams this season with Bishop's going 3-1.
Next up Bishop's will play Laval (9-4) on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Mitchell Gym.
