SHERBROOKE, Que. –
Chloe Calitri (Oakville, ON/St. Thomas Aquinas C.S.S.) came off the bench and provided the fireworks the Bishop's Gaiters women's soccer team needed as they beat cross-town rival Sherbrooke 2-1 on Friday night on the Vert et Or's home turf.
Calitri's tally came off a beautiful feed from Andrea Boily in the first half and keeper
Anne-Marie Ulliac (Edmonton, AB/Western Kentucky University) shut the door the rest of the way to secure the Gaiters second win of the season. Ulliac made 14 saves and was named game MVP.
Bishop's opened the scoring when captain
Kayla Kyle (Montreal, QC/John Abbott College) put a ball over the top and Frederique Rivard scored her first goal of the year. Sherbrooke tied it up before Bishop's made substitutions that included Calitri.
The win moves Bishop's to 2-3-1 and fifth place in the RSEQ while Sherbrooke falls to 1-5-0 and sit in eighth place.
Next up Bishop's hosts Concordia (1-4-1) on Coulter Field on Sunday, Oct. 3. Catch the game live at
