LENNOXVILLE, Que. - The Gaiters started the second half of the 2021 AUS season on a high, collecting points for the first time this season. Last Friday's night game versus the SMU Huskies on Coulter Field was an evenly-matched contest with no points being scored in the first fifteen minutes. The Gaiters took the lead early in the second quarter and only trailed the Huskies once throughout the game. With the win, Bishop's tosses their name back into the playoff discussion. This weekend, the Gaiters will look to maintain momentum headed into the final three games of the 2021 AUS regular season.

The Gaiters will once again travel to the Maritimes, this time for a much-awaited match-up with the Acadia Axemen. This is the first and only scheduled contest between the two teams this year. The last time the Gaiters traveled to Wolfville, the Gaiters met the Axemen in the 2019 Loney Bowl on November 9, 2019. Bishop's has yet to defeat the Axemen since joining the AUS in 2017 and is looking to change the narrative with a monumental win on Saturday.
The Axemen (1-2) are coming off of a bye while the Gaiters (1-2) are coming off of a big win at home last weekend, the first of the 2021 season. A week ago, Bishop's defeated the SMU Huskies by a score of 14-13.
All-Time:
The Gaiters are 0-7 against Acadia since joining the AUS in 2017 and were 2-2 against the Axemen prior to that in RSEQ-AUS crossover play.
