LENNOXVILLE, Que. - After two weeks of 2021 AUS action, the Gaiters are looking to get in the win column. Last Saturday's game versus the StFX X-Men in Antigonish was a back-and-forth frenzy with both teams matching one another in first downs, rushing yards and turnovers but, ultimately, the X-Men proved victorious. Despite the loss, Bishop's put up 29 points in the game, a season high for the Gaiters, and will look to build on last week's performance. This week marks the official halfway point of the AUS season for the Gaiters and there is no better time for them to get their first win of the season.

For the second time in 2021, the Gaiters return to Coulter Field for a Thanksgiving Friday Night Lights match-up with the SMU Huskies. The Gaiters-Huskies Thanksgiving meeting has become a kind of tradition in the AUS over the past couple of years and always proves to be a key game in the final season standings. The last time the Huskies stepped on Coulter Field under the lights, the Gaiters recorded a historic 23-15 victory, their first win against the Huskies since joining the AUS in 2017. This time around, Bishop's is looking for a similar outcome which could prove monumental in the final weeks of the season.
The Huskies (1-2) are coming off a 14-7 loss at the hands of Acadia while the Gaiters (0-2) aim to collect points for the first time this season. A week ago, Bishop's fell 32-29 to the StFX X-Men.
All-Time:
The Gaiters are 1-5 against SMU since joining the AUS in 2017 and were 2-2 against the Huskies prior to that in RSEQ-AUS crossover play.
