LENNOXVILLE, Que. - The Bishop's Gaiters men's basketball team is back in action this week on Thursday and Saturday for the second two-game weekend of the young RSEQ season. On Thursday, the Gaiters travel to Montreal to meet the Concordia Stingers at 8PM. On Saturday, Bishop's will head to Montreal again, this time to tip-off with the McGill Redbirds, at 6PM.

The Gaiters opened the season with an overtime victory at home against Laval last Thursday. Ibrahim Ngom (Montreal, Que./Vanier College), Daniel Levitt (Montreal, Que./), Matthis Guerut (Paris, France/Cegep de Thetford) and Carl Jacob (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) were the Gaiters' leading scorers and combined for 66 points as Bishop's outlasted Laval 76-73. Carl Jacob (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) added 10 rebounds to his 14 points to record the only double-double of the game.

Bishop's sits at 1-0 in the standings after last Thursday's season opener. Concordia (0-1) is winless after after losing to McGill (1-0) in the first game of the 2021 RSEQ campaign for both squads.
 
THURSDAY @ CONCORDIA
The Gaiters and Stingers will meet for the first time this regular season on Thursday. Concordia dropped its opening game 77-62 to McGill. Steve Mbida Abomo, Olivier Koumassou Bernier and Sami Ghandour scored in double figures for the Stingers in the loss to McGill. The Gaiters went 3-2 against the Stingers in 2019-20, getting a win in the final two meetings.

SATURDAY @ MCGILL
Bishop's returns to Montreal for a Saturday evening match-up with the McGill Redbirds. This will be the first of four meetings between the two teams this season. Ryan Thorne enters his first season as the Redbirds bench boss and has one win under his belt to start the season. Jamal Mayali scored 29 points for McGill in the season opener while Haris Elezovic recorded the only double-double for the Redbirds. McGill won the last meeting between the Redbirds and Gaiters by a score of 73-68 on February 8, 2020.
