SHERBROOKE, Que. - The Bishop's Gaiters men's rugby team used a strong second half to propel past three-time reigning RSEQ Champion Concordia in their first game back on Coulter Field in two years. Bishop's tallied 22 unanswered points for a 27-12 win in front of a sold-out Coulter Field.

The Gaiters trailed early after
Joseph Crobisiero put the Stingers up in the 14
th minute. Bishop's responded with their first major 14 minutes later. That came via a
Kyle Corrigan (Ottawa, ON/St. Paul H.S.) lunging try. A failed convert and another Concordia score left the Stingers ahead 12-5. The Gaiters pushed back and broke through on the final possession of the first stanza thanks to
Matthew Shufelt (Brigham, QC/Cégep de Sherbrooke / Université de Sherbrooke). Corrigan converted to knot the score at 12 at the break.
The second half was all purple. Corrigan connected on a penalty in the 53
rd minute and
Matthew Skipper (Kirkland, QC/John Abbott College) finished off a long run just two minutes later to send the 687 Coulter Field faithful into a frenzy. The Gaiters were awarded a penalty try in the 72
nd minute that sealed the deal 27-12 and earned Bishop's the RSEQ bonus point.
Next up the Gaiters will host the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Coulter Field on Friday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
