LENNOXVILLE, Ont. - The game was the epitome of a defensive battle with all points scored through three quarters coming off of rouges and safeties. The Mounties broke through the touchdown drought late, and stole the game going up 10-7 with a minute and a half left in the competition, after intercepting a Bishop's pass.

Yani Gouadfel (Mitry-Mory, France/Cégep de Thetford), made his presence felt during the game and was named the Subway Player of the Game. Gouadfel tallied six solo tackles and three assisted tackles on the day. Yani also intercepted a stray Mount Allison pass and returned it for 43 yards. He was also today's punter and averaged over 40 yards on nine punts on special teams with his longest totaling 56 yards.
The loss drops the Gaiters to 0-1 while the Mounties extend their 2021 record to 2-0.
Next Up
The Gaiters are back in action next Saturday October 2nd on the first road trip of the year. The purple and white head to Antigonish, NS to face the X-Men - game time is set for 3PM local time.
