The Gaiters played host to the McGill Redbirds as part of the season-opening doubleheader in Mitchell Gym on Thursday night. A closely played first half had McGill with the lead 38-34. Bishop's came out flat in the 3rd quarter and were down by 10, 56-46, heading into the fourth quarter. The gameplan was sound in the 4th quarter, as the Gaiters exploded offensively for 27 points. A late bucket by Charles Robert (Vaudreuil, Que./Suffield Academy) sealed the deal and Bishop's held on for a 73-71 win.

...Charles Robert (Vaudreuil, Que./Suffield Academy) led the team with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
...Hisham Saleh (Aylmer, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) came off the bench and contributed 15 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
...The rookie Etienne Gagnon was solid, with 12 points and 7 rebounds
