The Bishop's Gaiters men's basketball team faced a tough team in the return of RSEQ basketball in Montreal on Thursday night.
Bishop's came up short, losing 63-56 to the Concordia Stingers in a defensive battle.
The Gaiters and Stingers were evenly matched in the first quarter, exchanging points to end the opening frame tied at 12-12.
Looking to pull ahead, the Gaiters put up ten points in the second but surrendered 16 to the Stingers and trailed 28-22 at halftime.
Concordia went up by nine after three quarters, scoring 16 points in the third while the Gaiters netted 13 of their own.
The Gaiters narrowed the gap in the final frame but, in the end, it was the host Stingers who ended with the victory. Bishop's finished the game with 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Anthony Sanogo (Montreal, Que./) and
Obinna Dike-Nwagbara (Montreal, QC/Champlain College Saint-Lambert) had big games, scoring a combined 36 points, leading the way for the Gaiters. In all, eight players had at least a basket for Bishop's.

The Gaiters will look to get their second win of the season at home on Saturday night in a rematch with Concordia at Mitchell Gymnasium. Game time is set for 8PM.
