In what was the most evenly-matched contest of the season thus far, the Citadins escaped Thursday night's game with an 83-75 final score.
The game started slow with neither team scoring in the opening 1:40 of the game, but the Gaiters began to find the net and led the Citadins by one at the end of the first frame - 16-15.
UQAM outscored Bishop's 5-0 early in the second quarter but Bishop's responded and took a 36-33 score into the halftime break.
Both teams exchanged baskets in the third quarter but it was the Citadins who managed to lead by four after 30 minutes of play.
Bishop's held their own in the fourth but UQAM stole the game in the final two minutes, taking the game by a score of 83-75.
Amaiquen Siciliano (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Velez Sarsfield) led the Gaiters' offense with 32 points, shooting 54% from the field and 33% from behind the arc.
Jennifer Louis (Montreal, Que./Cegep Edouard-Montpetit) also finished the night in double digits with 11.

The Gaiters will now return to Mitchell Gym on Saturday March 19th for the rematch with the Citadins. This will be the final game of the regular season for both teams. Tip-off is set for 6PM in Lennoxville.
