In a do-or-die season finale in Mitchell Gym, the Gaiters needed a win to extend their season and did just that.
The Gaiters got on a roll early and never looked back, securing an 88-52 win over the Citadins, and locked in a spot in the post-season.
The Gaiters started the game quick on a 5-0 run and locked in a 25-8 lead after the opening ten minutes.
Bishop's shot 52.9% from the field and an impressive 66.7% from 3-point range to put up a game-high 26 points in the second stanza. The home team led 51-26 at the halftime break.
In the third quarter, the Gaiters and Citadins exchanged baskets but Bishop's maintained a solid lead after 30 minutes - 70-42.
The Gaiters continued to push the tempo in the final frame and closed out the game with an 88-52 final.
Connor Kelly had a career night on Seniors' Night in Mitchell Gym on Saturday.
With a 36-point difference in the final score, the Gaiters not only clinched a playoff spot but secured third in the RSEQ standings with a 4-8 record and will now face the Concordia Stingers on Wednesday night.
Connor Kelly (Brockville, Ont./St. Mary's C.S.S.) had a career night with 25 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Ibrahim Ngom (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) recorded a landmark triple-double for the Gaiters with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to push the Gaiters to victory. He is the only RSEQ basketball player to do so this season.

The Gaiters will now travel to Montreal on Wednesday to face the Concordia Stingers in an RSEQ semi-final game. Tip-off is set for 8PM.
