The Bishop's Gaiters were looking to complete the weekend sweep of Laval as they hosted the second game of the weekend's home-and-home series.
On Thursday, the Gaiters picked up a convincing win over the Rouge et Or in Quebec City and were looking to repeat in Lennoxville.
In the end, Saturday's contest went to the Rouge et Or who walked away with the win by a score of 70-66.
The Gaiters got off to a strong start in the opening frame, shooting well offensively and led 22-16 after ten minutes.
Laval outscored Bishop's 5-2 early in the second quarter but Bishop's held strong, maintaining a 37-33 lead at the half.
The Rouge et Or came out of the break strong and attempted to separate themselves from the Gaiters, outscoring the home team 16-11 in the third to take a 49-48 lead after 30 minutes of play.
Bishop's held their own in the fourth and continued to push the pressure but were unable to climb back as the Rouge et Or escaped with a 70-66 win to end the weekend.
Amaiquen Siciliano (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Velez Sarsfield) led the Gaiters' offense with 27 points while
Jael Kabunda (Montreal, Que./College Montmorency) added 12 and
Victoria Gauna (Mendoza, Argentina/) recorded 10 in Saturday's match-up. Gauna recorded the Gaiters' only double-double, securing 11 rebounds throughout her 38 minutes on the court.

The Gaiters will now return to Mitchell Gym on Thursday March 10
th to face the McGill Martets. This game will be the team's annual Shoot for the Cure game. Tip-off is set for 6PM in Lennoxville.
