The Laval Rouge et Or were in town on Saturday evening for a battle of the top two teams in the RSEQ. The Gaiters, currently sitting in first, dropped their game at Laval on January 6, by a score of 55-54. This matchup was much different, as Victoria Gauna (Mendoza, Argentina) was back for the Gaiters. A close first quarter, with next to no defense, finished 24-20 in favour of the home team. An offensive explosion in the second quarter gave the Gaiters a 46-32 lead at the half. The third quarter was much of the same, as Bishop's continued to score at will and took a 64-54 lead into the final quarter. The Rouge et Or came out with a purpose, but the Gaiters closed the game out and won, 77-66. 

How it Happened... 
… Amaiquen Siciliano (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Velez Sarsfield) finished with a game-high 27 points, adding 3 assists 
… Jael Kabunda (Montreal, Que./College Montmorency) had another double-double, this time with 19 points and 18 rebounds 
… The Gaiters outscored the Rouge et Or in the paint 46-26 

Next Up 
The Gaiters will be on the road in Montreal on Thursday, Feb. 2nd to take on the McGill Martlets. Tip-off for that game is set for 6pm.
