QUEBEC CITY – The No. 2-ranked Bishop's Gaiters dropped their first conference game of the year on Friday night when they lost 66-65 to the Laval Rouge et Or in Quebec City.
The contest was Bishop's first since Dec. 3. The loss drops the Gaiters to 6-1 while Laval improves to 5-2.
Amaiquen Siciliano (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Velez Sarsfield) led the way for Bishop's in the losing cause, she tallied 20 points while
Jael Kabunda (Montreal, Que./College Montmorency) added a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Deborah Aboagye (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) rounded out the Gaiters in double figures with 11 points.
Four Rouge et Or scored 10 or more points led by Elodie Lajoie with 17.
Next up the Gaiters will play Concordia in a home-and-home series starting in Montreal on Thursday, Jan. 19. Their first home game of 2023 is Saturday, Jan. 21. Both games are at 6 p.m.
