Victoria Gauna (Mendoza, Argentina) scored 22 points and grabbed 19 rebounds and
Eve Atchampone (Trois-Rivieres, QC/CEGEP St-Jean) scored 18 as the Bishop's Gaiters beat the UQAM Citadins 66-55 on Saturday in Montreal.
The victory gets Bishop's in the win column who now sit at 1-3 in the young RSEQ season. The defending RSEQ Champion UQAM Citadins fall to 0-4.
Gauna who had just five points at the halftime used a massive second half to turn a six-point deficit into an 11-point win. Actchampone had the best game of her young career as the rookie's 18 points included a 10-11 performance from the free throw line. As a team Bishop's was 21-25 from the charity stripe.
Both teams struggled with ball control as Bishop's turned the ball over 29 times leading to 22 UQAM points while the hosts coughed it up 23 times that Bishop's turned into 16 points.
Bishop's is back in action on Thursday, Nov. 23 when they host the McGill Martlets (2-2) at 6 p.m. in Mitchell Gym. Tickets are available at

Victoria Gauna (Mendoza, Argentina) a marqué 22 points et ramené 19 rebonds, tandis qu'
Eve Atchampone (Trois-Rivieres, QC/CEGEP St-Jean) a marqué 18 points, permettant aux Bishop's Gaiters de battre les UQAM Citadins 66-55 samedi à Montréal.
Cette victoire place Bishop's dans la colonne des victoires, avec une fiche de 1-3 en cette jeune saison du RSEQ. Les Citadins d'UQAM, champions en titre du RSEQ, chutent à 0-4.
Gauna, qui n'avait que cinq points à la mi-temps, a utilisé une deuxième demi impressionnante pour transformer un déficit de six points en une victoire de 11 points. Atchampone a connu le meilleur match de sa jeune carrière, les 18 points de la recrue incluant une performance de 10 sur 11 aux lancers francs. En tant qu'équipe, Bishop's a réussi 21 tirs sur 25 depuis la ligne des lancers francs.
Les deux équipes ont eu du mal avec le contrôle du ballon, Bishop's perdant la possession 29 fois, entraînant 22 points pour UQAM, tandis que les hôtes ont commis 23 revirements que Bishop's a transformés en 16 points.
