The Gaiters traveled to Quebec City on Friday night with clear minds, having clinched first place in the RSEQ standings last weekend. For the Rouge et Or, this game had major playoff implications with a chance to clinch second place on the line. The Gaiters started slow, but managed a 21-16 lead after the first quarter after Amaiquen Siciliano (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Velez Sarsfield) got hot and hit a few big shots. The second quarter had both teams battling, but relentlessly the Gaiters clung to a 38-32 lead at the half. The third quarter was ugly for both sides, with only 20 total points being scored. The Gaiters took a two-point lead into the fourth quarter before opening the floodgates and putting the game to rest. The Gaiters scored 15 and more impressively, held Laval to just two points in the final frame.
