MONTREAL – Goalkeeper
Ashley Pitcher (Ottawa, ON/John McCrae S.S.) recorded a clean sheet and
Jessalynn Hill (Brantford, ON/North Park Collegiate) scored in the 75
th minute to propel the Bishop's Gaiters women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the UQAM Citadins on Friday night in Montreal.
The victory moves Bishop's to 1-1 after they suffered a 3-1 loss to Sherbrooke on Wednesday night.
UQAM falls to 0-2.
"To bounce back the way we did from a very difficult loss 48 hours ago was incredibly impressive," said Gaiters' head coach
Paul Ballard. "This was a team win as each player did their part to see us win.
Ashley Pitcher (Ottawa, ON/John McCrae S.S.) was great to earn the shut out. Jess Hill was solid all match and to see her score that goal was very special."
Hill was named the Gaiters MVP after she tallied in the 75th minute to break the deadlock.

The Gaiters are back in action on Sunday, Sept. 10 when they are back in Montreal to face McGill at 3:30 p.m.
