MONTREAL –
Tiernan McDougall (Vancouver, BC/Champlain-Lennoxville) knocked down a three-pointer with 9.2 seconds left in overtime to break a deadlock and propel the Bishop's Gaiters to a 62-59 win over the McGill Redbirds on Thursday night in Lennoxville.
The win improves Bishop's to 5-5 while McGill falls to 1-8.
Without three regulars in the line-up and a struggle to get the ball to fall, Bishop's slugged it out with the Redbirds.
Charles Robert (Vaudreuil, QC/Suffield Academy) led all scorers with 17 points. McDougall had 12 including three triples while
Carl Dubois (Montreal, QC/Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf) rounded out the Gaiters in double figures with 10.
Etienne Gagnon (Longueuil, QC/Cegep de Sherbrooke) grabbed an RSEQ season-high 20 rebounds.
The Gaiters were just 9-22 from three-point range and turned the ball over 24 times but found a way to earn the victory. McGill also coughed the ball up 24 times.
The two teams are back on the hardwood on Saturday at 8 p.m. in Mitchell Gym. Tickets are available at
