SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's University lacrosse team will head to Montreal this weekend for the 2013 Baggataway Cup hosted by McGill. The Gaiters will face the Guelph Gryphons on Friday night at 8:30 p.m. at Percival Molson Stadium in the quarterfinal.
The Gaiters (7-3) beat Carleton (2-8) 12-4 in a CUFLA East playoff game on Saturday, Oct. 26 to advance to their fourth consecutive Baggataway Cup. They will be the second seed out of the CUFLA East. Guelph (9-3) topped McMaster (6-6) 14-8 to earn their ticket as the third seed in the CUFLA West.
For the Gaiters, the 2011 Baggataway Cup champions, to reach the final they will have to play games on three consecutive days from Friday to Saturday. The other quarterfinal features the Western Mustangs (10-2), second in the west facing off against the Queen's Gaels (7-3) third from the east. The winner of that game will play host McGill (10-0) in the Semi-final on Saturday.
Three Gaiters were selected as CUFLA all-Canadians when they were announced on Tuesday. Attackman
Alex Henderson (Enniskillen, Ont.), who led the CUFLA East in scoring was recognized along with midfielder
