SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's University basketball teams will take to the court this Friday night against the Laval Rouge et Or in Mitchell Gym.  The women tip at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m. 
 
The Lady Gaiters (0-2) will face the Rouge et Or (0-1) at 6 p.m.  Bishop's has had a rough start to the regular season falling 69-56 and 66-40 to UQAM (2-1) and Concordia (1-1) respectively.  Laval lost 44-33 to McGill (2-0).  Last season the Rouge et Or were defeated in the RSEQ semi- final by McGill.  This season the Gaiters have been led in scoring by Jenae Grayer (Windsor, Ont.).  She scored 19 points against UQAM and 12 points at Concordia. The young Gaiters have showed brilliance at times and look like they can compete with anyone.  Consistency however has been an issue as they were only able to manage two points in the opening frame against Concordia and six in the second quarter against UQAM.
 
The men's basketball team (2-0) will take on the Laval Rouge et Or (0-1) at 8 p.m.  The Gaiters are coming off two outstanding performances. They won 81-55 over UQAM (1-2) and 70-55 over Concordia (0-2).  Laval lost 62-59 to McGill (2-0) two weeks ago in their lone game to date this year.  Bishop's was strong defensively against Concordia holding them to nine points in the third quarter and eight in the fourth frame.  The Gaiters beat Laval on three out of four occasions last year en route to a second place finish in the RSEQ while the Rouge et Or did not make the playoffs.

Following their final game of 2013 in Mitchell Gym on Friday, the Gaiters will close out their pre-Christmas schedule at McGill on Nov. 28 as they take on the Martlets and Redmen.
