SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's University Gaiters are back in action after a restful Thanksgiving break. The women's soccer team will play their last home game Friday night at 7 p.m. against McGill and will face UQTR on the road on Sunday at 1 p.m. The women's basketball team are off to P.E.I. for the Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament hosted by UPEI. The men's lacrosse team will host Concordia on Sunday at 1 p.m. The women's hockey team wraps up the weekend with a game against NEA Dynamie Estrie at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday.
The women's soccer team (1-8-1) will host McGill (3-5-2) at 7 p.m. in their last game on Coulter Field this season. They will also travel to face UQTR (2-6-2) on Sunday for a 1 p.m. kick-off. The Gaiters have been playing well, tying with Concordia (3-3-4) and beating UQAM (1-6-3) in their last two contests before the break. McGill beat the Gaiters in their last meeting but the Martlets have lost their last two games to Sherbrooke (7-2-1) and No. 3 Laval. UQTR also beat Bishop's earlier in the season and recently fell to Laval and Concordia.
The Lady Gaiters basketball team will take part in the Mickey Place Memorial basketball Tournament hosted by UPEI. They will face UPEI on Friday at 5 p.m., Cape Breton on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Ottawa on Sunday at 8 a.m. (all times Eastern). The Gaiters opened their exhibition action falling to Wilfred Laurier and McMaster but beating University of Waterloo in early October. UPEI finished the 2013-14 season losing in the AUS semi-final after they beat Cape Breton to make it there. In the OUA East, Ottawa lost in the semi-final, which ended their 2013-14 campaign.
The lacrosse team (7-2) will take on Concordia (0-9) on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. on Coulter Field in CUFLA East action. The Gaiters beat Concordia 27-1 on Monday night in Montreal.
The Bishop's women's hockey team will face NEA Dynamie Estrie on Sunday. Puck drops at 5:15 p.m. in W.B. Scott Arena.
