SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's University women's and men's basketball teams will take to the court on Thursday night in Montreal against the Concordia Stingers. Women tip off at 6 p.m. and the men follow at 8 p.m. in RSEQ University basketball action.
The Lady Gaiters look to grab their first win of the season against the Stingers after falling 67-39 to McGill last weekend. Bishop's had the early lead but couldn't hold on against the No. 4 Martlets. Concordia lost 72-65 to Laval to open their campaign. This will mark the first of four games that Bishop's and Concordia will play, the other three will be after held after the holiday break.
The Bishop's men came up with a huge win over McGill last weekend thanks to some final minute heroics. Concordia is also 1-0 on the season after an 80-70 win over Laval. Last season the Gaiters were 5-0 versus the Stingers, including a 74-59 RSEQ semi-final victory. They look to continue this streak on Thursday. It will also mark the former Stinger
Kyle Desmarais' (Montreal) return to Concordia. Desmarais played three years with Concordia, earning RSEQ all-star status on each year before taking a year off and joining the Gaiters squad for the 2014-15 season.
The Gaiters will face tough competition in Montreal this Thursday night against Concordia. The games will be streamed online at
