PENULITIMATE WEEKEND TO PREP GAITERS FOR PLAYOFFS

SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's Gaiters will face off against the first-place and the last-place teams in the RSEQ this weekend.  They will host the No. 7 McGill Redmen on Friday night at 8 p.m. and will be in Montreal to play UQAM on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.

Bishop's is coming off a pair of wins against Concordia (6-6) last weekend. The Gaiters are currently 0-3 against McGill this season, falling twice to the Redmen two weekends ago in a home-and-home series.  The last time they met Mike Andrews (Oakville, Ont.) had 11 points, five rebounds and three blocks to lead the way for Bishop's.

McGill (10-2) is coming off a set of games with UQAM (2-10).  The Redmen won 90-72 on Thursday night and 78-76 in overtime on Saturday.  Simon Bibeau (St. Bruno, Que.) scored 17 points and had six rebounds for McGill while Alexandre Bernard (Gatineau, Que.) led the way for the Citadins with 24 points and 10 boards.

UQAM has matched up against the Gaiters three times so far this season and have lost each time. Their last meetings were Jan. 17 and 18. The Gaiters won 71-50 and 83-82 respectively.  Bermillo put up 16 points and seven rebounds, including a thrilling buzzer beating three-pointer in the second game of the weekend.

"We have made the playoffs and are looking to continue to build our game with the return of key guys," said head coach Rod Gilpin.  "We are trying to be more consistent defence and get better as we look to the end of the regular season."

Bishop's will take on McGill Friday night at home at 8 p.m. and UQAM on Sunday afternoon in Montreal at 4 p.m.  Both games will be webcasted online.
