SHERBROOKE, Que.  – The Bishop's Univeristy men's basketball team will host the Laval Rouge et Or in their last home contest before heading into the holiday break on Saturday night at 8 p.m. in Lennoxville.
 
The Gaiters have had a rough start to RSEQ play.  They lost 79-75 to the UQAM Citadins (1-1) after a powerful comeback lead by Jona Bermillo's (Montreal) 17 points in the fourth quarter alone.  Two days later in Lennoxville they took on the No.3 McGill Redmen (1-0) but fell 94-68.  Bermillo was named Provigo Robert Lafond Athlete of the Week for his performance this past weekend.  He scored 25 points and had six assists in 33 minutes on the floor against UQAM, followed by 12 points against McGill.  Bermillo is one of three returners from the 2014-15 RSEQ Championship team. 
 
Rookie Abdul Kamane (Montreal) had a great weekend for his first RSEQ action, he scored 17 points and put up 6 rebounds against the Citadins and 12 points versus McGill. 
 
Peter Weston (Quebec City), in his introduction to RSEQ play in Mitchell Gym had 19 points, nine of which came from beyond the arc, in 33 minutes.  He was also 8-10 shooting from the free throw line. 
 
Laval (0-1) lost 66-62 to Concordia (2-0) in their first contest of the season at home.  RSEQ 2014-15 Rookie of the Year Alexandre Leclerc (Saguenay, Que.) had 16 points and five rebounds in 34 minutes for the Rouge et Or.  Laval also has four seniors returning to their roster, Karl Demers-Belanger (Quebec City), Thibaud Dezutter (Namur, Belgium), Laurier Beaulac-Dufresne (Gatineau, Que.) and Antoine Beaumier (Trois-Rivieres, Que.) are back in red and gold.
