SHERBROOKE, Que. – To close out the first semester of RSEQ men's basketball action the Bishop's University men's basketball team take on the Concordia Stingers on Saturday afternoon in Montreal. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
The Gaiters (0-3) are looking for their first win of the season after losing 83-76 to the Laval Rouge et Or (1-1).
Peter Weston (Quebec City) lead the Gaiters in scoring with 19 points on 6-10 shooting and a perfect 4-4 from the line. The Provigo Robert Lafond Athlete of the Week added three steals in 33 minutes on the floor. Freshman
Abdul Kamane (Montreal) had a great outing for the Gaiters with 15 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes of action.
Duncan Lambert (Kingston, Ont.) also had a solid outing with an RSEQ career high of 11 points against Laval. He went 5-6 from the floor in 22 minutes.
Concordia (2-1) fell 75-53 to the No. 3 McGill Redmen on Nov. 19. Former Gaiter Jaleel Webb (Pierrefonds, Que.) scored eight points and grabbed five boards. Michael Fosu (Montreal) also contributed eight points in the loss. Their top scorer, Schneiders Suffrard (Montreal), came off the bench to score 12 points.
Bishop's will hit the road on Saturday afternoon for a contest against Concordia at 4 p.m. in Montreal.
