CONFERENCE’S BEST CAGERS LOOK FOR TITLES AT BISHOP’S UNIVERSITY

SHERBROOKE, Que. – Bishop's University will host the women's and men's 2015 RSEQ Final-4 Championship from Mar. 5-7 in Mitchell Gym. 
 
The women open the tournament with the top seed in the conference and No. 4 nationally, McGill Martlets (15-1) will take on the fourth seeded Laval Rouge et Or (7-9) at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 5.  McGill has the regular season head-to-head 4-0 over Laval.  From the Martlets is the RSEQ Female Player of the year, Mariam Sylla (Conakry, Guinea) who is also a 1st Team All-star.  Her teammates Dianna Ros (Montreal) and Jennifer Silver (Montreal) are both 2nd Team All-stars.  Marika Guerin (Montreal) is on the All-Rookie team.  McGill Head Coach Ryan Thorne is Coach of the Year.  From Laval, the conference Rookie of the Year is Jane Gagne (Chicoutimi, Que.), she is also a 1st Team All-star.  Raphaelle Cote (Maria, Que.) was awarded the Sylvia Sweeney award for Leadership and Community Service and Catherine Belanger-Paquet (Quebec City) was awarded the Tracy Macleod award.  Sarah-Jane Marois (Quebec City) is a 2nd Team All-star and on the All-Rookie Team. 
 
The second game of the night at 8 p.m. has the UQAM Citadins (11-5) against the Concordia Stingers (7-9).  UQAM has the head-to-head match up 3-1 against the Stingers.  For UQAM Queteline Celestin (Cayenne, France) was named Defensive Player of the Year and a 1st Team All-star along with Jessica Lubin (Montreal).  Bianca Marois (Trois-Rivieres, Que.) was named to the All-Rookie team for the Citadins.  Marilyse Roy-Viau (Mirabel, Que.) is a 1st Team All-star and Kaylah Barrett (Brampton, Ont.) is a 2nd Team All-star for Concordia. 
 
The women's Final is set for Saturday Mar. 7 at 5 p.m. with the winner continuing on to the CIS Final-8 Championship in Quebec City at PEPS hosted by Laval from March 12-15.  It will be part of Sportsnet U's Super CIS Championship Weekend. 
 
On the men's side the McGill Redmen (11-5) and Concordia Stingers (8-8) will take to the court on Friday night at 6 p.m. in the first of two Semi-Final match-ups.  These two teams have split their four previous matches with two wins each.  RSEQ All-stars for McGill are Player of the Year, Francois Bourque (Terrebonne, Que.), 1st Team, and Dele Ogundokun (Hamilton, Ont.), Defensive Player of the Year and 2nd Team.  McGill Head Coach Dave DeAveiro is Coach of the Year.  Vincent Dufort (Smith Falls, Ont.) is a 1st Team All-star and Noah Daoust (Dorval, Que.) is on the All-Rookie Team.  For Concordia Mukiya Post (Victoria, B.C.) is the Ken Shield Award Nominee.  Ken Beaulieu (Longueuil, Que.) is a 2nd Team All-star and Ricardo Monge (Gatineau, Que.) is on the All-Rookie Team. 
 
The second Semi-Final has the Laval Rouge et Or (9-7) against the Bishop's Gaiters (8-8) on Friday at 8 p.m.  The Gaiters and Laval have each won two contests against the other.  Conference Rookie of the Year is Laval's Alexandre Leclerc (Saguenay, Que.) who is also on the All-Rookie Team.  Karl Demers-Belanger (Quebec City) is a 1st Team All-star, Thibaud Dezutter (Namur, Belgium) is a 2nd Team All-star and Charles-Andre Edorh (Montreal) is on the All-Rookie Team.  For the Gaiters, Kyle Desmarais (Montreal) is a 1st Team All-star and Matt McLean (Ottawa) is a 2nd Team All-star. 
 
The men's final will be at 8 p.m. on Saturday Mar. 7 with the winner moving onto the CIS Final-8 Championship in Toronto at the Mattamy Athletic Centre at Ryerson University.  It will be part of Sportsnet U's Super CIS Championship Weekend.
