The Bishop's Gaiters men's basketball team celebrated Thanksgiving in style as they sank the Maine Maritime Academy 82-48 in an exhibition game played at the La Ruche high school in Magog. The game was a fundraiser for the high school's athletic foundation and basketball teams.

David Belanger (Sherbrooke, Que.) was the captain of the Gaiters' attack, as he scored a game-high 21 points, going 9-for-12 from the field. Joany C.Thadal (St-Leonard, Que.) had 12 points, while Jona Bermillo (Montreal, Que.) and Owen Martlel (Erin, Ont.) had 11 and 10 respectively as the Gaiters cruised to the win.

The Gaiters took an early lead, and were up 18-12 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, they torpedoed the Mariners' hopes, as they held MMA to only six points, and took a 42-18 lead into halftime.

The Gaiters return to action on Friday, Oct. 20, as they visit the Mount Royal Cougars in Calgary.
