Football: GAITERS RETURN HOME TO FACE REDMEN UNDER THE LIGHTS

THE MATCHUP: The Bishop's Gaiters return to Coulter Field for a rare night game as they take on the McGill Redmen. Kickoff is set for Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.

THE RECORDS: The Gaiters are 1-4 on the year, having picked up their first win of their season in their last home game, a 30-29 win over Saint Mary's on Sept. 24. The Redmen are 2-3, having lost their last two games – most recently a 61-9 loss at Laval on Oct. 2.

NOTHING BUT NET: Friday's game will be webcast live at www.gaiters.ca/webcast. For live stats, visit http://www.sportetudiant-stats.com/livestats/bishops/xlive.htm. Score updates will also be available on Twitter, by following @BishopsGaiters.

LAST TIME OUT: Despite a 300-yard game from Jaeden Marwick, and a record-tying four field goals from Vincent Dubé, the Gaiters fell 50-34 to Concordia in the 30th annual Shrine Bowl in Montreal on Oct. 1. Marwick threw a pair of touchdowns, to Jerome Valbon and Trey Millings and ran in for another score in the third quarter. Dube went 4-for-4 in field goal attempts. The Gaiters had a 16-15 halftime lead, but gave up 26 third-quarter points as the Stingers broke the game open in the second half.

THE SERIES: The Gaiters lead the all-time series 45-42-1. The Gaiters-Redmen series is the longest-running series for Bishop's, with the first meeting occurring back in 1885. However, the teams did not begin playing each other regularly until 1971, when both teams joined the Quebec Universities Athletic Association. The Gaiters have won three of the past six games in the series, and five of the past 10.

WHEN LAST WE MET: The Gaiters fell 43-9 to Montreal at Molson Stadium on Sept. 16, as Anthony Deschamps scored a pair of touchdowns for the hosts. The Gaiters trailed 7-2 after the first quarter, and 16-2 at halftime before McGill pulled away in the second half. For Bishop's, rookie quarterback Jaeden Marwick threw his first career touchdown pass, a 20-yard third-quarter strike to Alex Bouffard.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?: With his 334 passing yards against Concordia, rookie quarterback Jaeden Marwick became the first Gaiter quarterback to post consecutive 300-yard games since Jordan Heather had five 300-yard games in 2013. The Regina native, and 2015 PFC MVP, has 840 passing yards, including five touchdowns in 2016. He is leading rookie QB in the RSEQ and is fourth overall with 210 yards per game.

THE JOY OF SACKS: With 13 sacks this season, the Gaiters are third in the conference, and 10th in the country. Mickael Badra leads the Gaiters with 5.5 sacks, thanks to his record-setting performance against SMU. Trey Hylton has made 2.5 sacks, while the other Gaiter QB stoppers have been Keagan Hughes, Mathieu Breton, David L'Heureux, Adam Plamondon, Charles Belanger (one each) and Shayne Cowan-Cholette (0.5).

UP NEXT: The Gaiters hit the road for the final time in the regular season, as they visit the Laval Rouge et Or on Sunday, Oct. 23. Kickoff at Stade Telus is set for 1 p.m.
