Box Score SHERBROOKE, Que. – Jean-Guy Rimpel scored three second-half touchdowns to lead the Concordia Stingers to a 39-6 win over the Bishop's Gaiters in Quebec university football action at Coulter Field, Saturday. The Stingers held a slim 11-6 lead at halftime, but broke the game open with 28 unanswered second-half points.
 
Rimpel scored on touchdown runs from three, seven and two yards out, as he ended up with 234 yards rushing on 36 carries. The Stingers (4-4) totalled 312 yards rushing and outgained the Gaiters 452-128.
 
Concordia's other major came on a 26-yard pass from Colin Sequeira to Justin Julien at 3:40 of the first quarter. A pair of safety touches rounded out the scoring for the Stingers.
 
For the Gaiters (1-7), Vincent Dube made two first-half field goals.
 
Vincent Davignon led the Gaiters offence with 59 rushing yards.
 
The damp, cold conditions made passing difficult, as Concordia's Colin Sequeira finished with 140 yards passing on 9-of-14 attempts, while the Gaiters tandem of 
Jaeden Marwick and 
Mathieu Demers combined to go 8-for-22 for 63 yards.
 
Defensively, 
Jeremy Magan-France led the Gaiters with seven tackles (4 solo, 6 assisted), while 
Guillaume Trottier had 6.5 tackles and an interceptions. 
Shayne Cowan-Cholette had the Gaiters' other interception.
 
For Concordia, Andrew Barlett led with 5.5 tackles, including one for loss, while Michael Sanelli had four tackles and a sack.
 
The loss concludes the Gaiters' 2016 season. Concordia finishes third in the RSEQ, and will play second-seeded Laval next week in the conference semi-final.
