Box Score SHERBROOKE, Que. - A balanced attack led the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees to an 85-70 win over the Bishop's Gaiters in non-conference men's basketball action at the Mitchell Gym, Sunday. The Gee-Gees (1-0) had five players in double figures, led 13 each from by Calvin Epistola and Kenny Jean-Louis. The Gaiters (0-2) were led by Joany Castor-Thadal, who had a game-high 19 points.

The Gaiters opened strongly, and went shot-for-shot with the Gee-Gees through most of the opening first quarter, a period that featured seven lead changes. However, Ottawa went on a 5-0 run in the last 30 seconds of the period to take a 20-15 lead after 10 minutes. The visitors extended their lead in the second quarter, leading by as many as 19 points with 2:28 to go in the half. The Gaiters cut the margin to 10 points half time as they went into the long break trailing 43-33. Ottawa scored 28 points in the third quarter, and extended their lead to 15 points, at 71-56.

Sean Stoqua added 11 points for Ottawa, while Brody Maracle and Chase Tyne's each scored 10. For Bishop's, Abdul Kamane (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) scored 15 points, while Duncan Lambert (Kingston, Ont./Regiopolis-Notre Dame C.S.S.) added 12.

Ottawa out rebounded Bishop's 42-38, led by seven from Jean-Louis. Kamane led the Gaiters with seven boards.

Ottawa is next in action in two weeks, as they head to Waterloo, Ont., for the Naismith Classic.

The Gaiters are back on the floor this Thursday, as they travel to Langford, B.C., to take on the UVic Vikes. The game, which tips off at 7 p.m. Pacific Time (10 p.m. Eastern), will be played at Belmont Secondary School.
