OTTAWA – Four Bishop's Gaiters scored in double figures but it was not enough as the host Carleton Ravens held on for a 74-65 victory in the nightcap on day one of the Metro Glebe Women's Basketball Tournament in the nation's capital on Friday night.
Bishop's was led by
Marie-Evrardine Berrouette (Montreal, Que./Dawson College) who tallied 14 points on 5-8 shooting from the floor in 33 minutes of court time. The freshman was also 4-7 from the charity stripe. Junior
Maude Archambault (Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Que./Collège Montmorency) chalked up 13 points off the bench that included a game-high three three-pointers.
Edith Noblecilla (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Santo Domingo de Guzmain) and
Ashley Milhomme (Repentigny, Que./Collège Montmorency) rounded out the Bishop's players in double figures with 11 and 10 respectively.
Leading the way for Carleton was Heather Lindsay who scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Her teammate Jenjen Abella scored 16.
Next up, Bishop's, now 4-2 in the pre-season against U SPORTS competition, takes on the Ottawa Gee-Gees in game two of three of the event on Saturday at 8 p.m.
