SHERBROOKE, Que – The Gaiters men's basketball team will hit the road this weekend to take on  the Laval Rouge et Or in Quebec City at the PEPS.  Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
 
Bishop's Breakdown:
Bishop's (1-1) beat UQAM (0-1) 83-77 to kick off their season.  Abdul Kamane (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) led the Gaiters with 24 points and Joany Castor Thadal (Saint-Leonard, Que./Champlain-St. Lambert) chipped in 22 points.  In their second contest of the season Bishop's fell to Concordia (1-1) 88-71.  Kamane had 22 points and David Belanger (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-St. Lambert) had 15 points and nine rebounds. Belanger was named Provigo, Robert Lafond Bishop's University Athlete of the Week for his performance. 
 
Laval's Line-up:
Laval (1-1) opened their season falling 92-56 to the No. 6 McGill Redmen in Montreal.  Alexandre Leclerc, a 2016-17 RESQ second-team All-Star, had 14 points for the Rouge et Or. Laval beat Concordia (1-1) 83-66 two days later at home.  Leclerc had 18 points and eight rebounds in the contest.

Belanger is third overall in the U SPORTS standings with 11 rebounds per game and Kamane is eighth overall with 23 points per game.
