Box Score SHERBROOKE, Que. – Alex Kiss-Rusk scored 15 points to lead the McGill Martlets to a 73-50 win over the Bishop's Gaiters in RSEQ women's basketball action at the Love Competition Hall in Montreal, Saturday. With the win, McGill improves to 17-9 overall, and 9-7 in league play, while the Gaiters falls to 7-14 overall, 2-12 in league play.
Kiss-Rusk went 7-for-12 from the field, and also collected a team-high eight rebounds for the Martlets, who never trailed in the contest. Marie-Love Michel came off the bench to score 11 points, while Jennifer Silver scored 10 for McGill.
For the Gaiters,
Maude Archambault (Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Que. /Collège Montmorency) came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points, while
Edith Noblecilla (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Santo Domingo de Guzmain) added 14 and
Ashley Milhomme (Repentigny, Que. /Collège Montmorency) scored 11.
Mara Marchizotti (Buenos Aires, Argentina) led all players on the boards, with nine rebounds.
McGill, who led 19-8 after the first quarter and 44-21 at halftime, hit 49 per cent of their field goal attempts overall, while the Gaiters connected on 30 per cent of their tries. McGill also held a 35-27 edge on the boards.
The Gaiters are next in action on Wednesday, February 22, as they host the Concordia Stingers at the Mitchell Gym. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
