Box Score The Gaiters opened their 2017 regular season falling 2-0 to the defending national champions, the Laval Rouge et Or.
 
The first half was a hard fought 45 minutes in which Gaiters goalkeeper Mehana Heins (Ottawa, Ont./Maryville S.S.) stopped all 6 of Laval's shots on target.  The Rouge et Or would not be stopped in the second half as they found the back of the net twice to hand the Gaiters the loss.
