SHERBROOKE, Que. – The Bishop's University lacrosse team will travel to Ontario this weekend to face-off with the Trent Excalibur and Queen's Gaels. The Gaiters will be in Peterborough, Ont. on Saturday night for a 6:30 p.m. start and Kingston on Sunday afternoon for a 4 p.m. start.
Last time out:
The Gaiters (4-0) beat the McGill Redmen (6-1) 12-11 in thrilling fashion over homecoming weekend to become the lone undefeated team in the CUFLA East. Rookie,
Samuel Firth (Ottawa, Ont./) tallied six goals in the game, including the tying goal to send the game into sudden victory overtime and the game winning goal.
Simon Winquist (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) and
Taren Cook (Rothesay N.B./Holderness School) netted two goals each in the contest.
Trent (4-2) lost this weekend to McGill 14-7 and won 14-4 over Ottawa (2-4).
Queen's (2-4) fell 12-11 to Ottawa and beat Carleton 10-5 over the weekend.

"We are super excited to take the trip to Trent and Queen's! It is always exciting to play Trent as they are certainly one of the most talented squads in CUFLA. We are just going to work hard to make it a better game than last year and we know Queen's will be tougher the second time around!"
Match-up:
This will mark the Gaiters and Excalibur's first meeting of 2017. Last season, Bishop's fell twice to Trent, 14-8 at home and 16-2 in Peterborough.
Queen's visited Lennoxville earlier this season for the Gaiters home opener, Bishop's won 16-5 over the Gaels.
Athlete of the Week:
Samuel Firth (Ottawa, Ont./) was named the Provigo, Robert Lafond Athlete of the Week for his performance against McGill.
Next up:
The Gaiters will return home for Thanksgiving weekend. They will host Trent at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8 on Coulter Field.
