Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 WOLFVILLE, N.S. - Fri. Sept. 28 – Bishop's 76 vs Acadia 72  (Box Score)

The Bishop's Gaiters were able to hold off the Acadia Axemen in the closing minutes of the game, picking up a 76-72 win during Friday night's second game of the Stu Aberdeen Tournament.

The first quarter of the game was close - a back and forth battle that saw Acadia out on top by just 1 at its end – 15-14. Axeman Trevone Grant (Nassau, Bahamas.) lead the quarter with five points.

The second quarter was a different story, where Bishop's started to capitalize on their chances in the paint and sinking more of their threes. Acadia watched their lead slip away and trailed 31-25 going into halftime.

Determined not to let the Gaiters run away with the lead, the Axemen put in Jacques Lukusa (Ottawa, Ont.) who exploded with 12 points in the third quarter. The Axemen came within five points of the Gaiters before the final break.

The Axemen battled hard in the last frame to get within 2 points of their opponents, but Bishop's was not about to let Acadia come back easily. The Gaiters fired back with several three pointers that seemed to put things out of reach for the Axemen.

In the game's final seconds, the Axemen tried desperately to force an extra frame, but Bishop's put Acadia in a tough position and eventually ran the clock down. The final score of the game was 76-72.

The Axemen only shot 4 for 22 from distant arc - an area of the game that the Gaiters were able to take the upper hand in. Kevin Davis (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor H.S.) (Baltimore, Md.) had five of the Gaiter's 12 threes, totaled 22 points, and was named the Subway Player of the Game.

Sat. Sept. 29 - Carleton 107 vs Bishop's 66 (Box Score)

Carleton University saw their second win of the tournament come against the Bishop's Gaiters, as the Ravens closed out the Gaiters 107-66.

The first quarter belonged to Carleton, as they opened with a 22-0 run and finished the quarter up 29-7. Carleton's TJ Lall (Cambridge, Ont.) put up nine points in the first 10 minutes.

The Gaiters found their stride in the second quarter, adding 20 to their 7 points, but Carleton had an equally impressive quarter, keeping Bishop's at a safe distance. Carleton closed out the half with a score of 56-27.

Both teams shot well from behind the arc in the first half, but it was the Ravens that were able to get it done all over the court. The majority of the Gaiters' first-half points came from their six threes.

The third quarter saw no change in the lead, with the Ravens keeping their pace and leading 86-50. Lall continued to lead the game in points, with 13 after the third. He would add 2 more in the fourth.

Carleton locked the game up in the fourth quarter, where multiple Ravens found the score sheet. A total of seven Carleton Ravens had points in the double digits on the night.

To go along with their excellent shooting, Carleton played a tough defensive game aided by Mitch Wood (Guelph, Ont.), who picked up 6 rebounds, added 5 assists, and was named the Subway Player of the Game.

Raven's top scorer TJ Lall posted team high 15 points, while Aiden Wanholtz and Eddie Ekiyor both added 13 points.

On the losing end, Zion Vervroegen had 12 points and teammate Jordan Thornhill (St-Lazare, Que.) pulled down a team leading seven rebounds.

Sun. Sept. 30 - StFX 87 vs Bishop's 76 (Box Score)

The St. FX X-Men closed out the Stu Aberdeen Tournament with their first win against the Bishop's University Gaiters 87-76.

Play was tight throughout the first three quarters. Despite Joany Castor-Thadal's (Montréal, Que.) 15-point opening quarter, St. FX led the first quarter 22-20.

Each team added 22 points in the second quarter, bringing the score to 44-22 for the X-Men. Castor-Thadal kept up his scoring pace and went into halftime with a game-leading 25 points.

Both teams were benefiting from a multitude of three-point baskets, each of them making seven, but the Gaiters would require nine more attempts to get their 21 points.

The score remained close throughout the third quarter, with the scoring differential never exceeding five. The X-Men started rotating players off their bench and continued to shoot consistently and successfully.

After 30 minutes of play, the score was 67-64 for St. FX. The X-Men saw plenty of their points coming off the hands of Justin Andrew (Hamilton, Ont.), who tallied 25 in the game and was named the Subway Player of the Game.

The X-Men finally broke out during the fourth quarter and started to separate themselves from the Gaiters. Over the last 10 minutes, the Gaiters slowly watched the scoring gap increase until the final buzzer. The final score of the game was 87-76 for St. FX.

The Gaiters did not appear to be the same team they were in the first half, as they only made 3 more threes after halftime; shooting a 3-point field goal percent of 23.8.

Tristen Ross and Daniel Passley posted up 15 and 14 points respectively.

Gaiters' Joany Castor-Thadal and Kevin Davis (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor H.S.) delivered 26 and 20 points respectively.
