SHERBROOKE, Que.  – The Gaiters women's soccer team will travel to Montreal on Thursday night to take on UQAM at 6 p.m.
 
Tale of the Tape
The Gaiters (0-8-1) are coming off a tough 2-1 loss to Sherbrooke (2-7-1) on Monday night.  Frederique Rivard scored the Gaiters' goal off a cross from Chloe Calitri (Oakville, Ont./St. Thomas Aquinas CSS). 
 
UQAM (3-5-1) is coming off a 2-0 win over Sherbrooke and a 5-0 loss to No. 4 Laval this past weekend. 
 
UQAM and Bishop's last match up saw the Citadins take down the Gaiters 3-0 on Coulter Field.   

Head Coach Paul Ballard:
We have an interesting schedule; it has been hard for us to get into a good flow of training the last little while.  This could also be a blessing in disguise, as these quick turnarounds allow us to get back on the field really quick and correct some things we have been trying to correct all season. We knew at the beginning of the year that it was going to be a year of growth and that a lot of girls were going to learn through experience.
 
UQAM is a good team and they are fighting right now to get into the playoffs, we know that they are not going to underestimate us because we kept them at 0-0 for almost eighty minutes last game. 

The big message that we are sending to our team is that we need to start being a little more risky in how we play.  We cannot wait for the perfect ball or opportunity, it's time for us to take some risks and hopefully we will get rewarded for it.
 
Every time we get an opportunity to play a 90 minute match in our conference is an opportunity that we have as a team to grow and that is my expectation for tomorrow night.

The Gaiters will face Concordia (2-6-1) in Montreal on Oct. 12^th at 8 p.m.
