Abdul Kamane (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) scored a game-high 25 points as the Bishop's Gaiters beat the Acadia Axemen 94-93 in double-overtime to close out the House Laughton Tournament hosted by the Carleton Ravens on Sunday in Ottawa. The victory was Bishop's first in three games at the event.

Nervens Demosthene (Terrebonne, Que./Cegep de Montmorency) had 23 points in 28 minutes to lead the Gaiters but they ultimately came up on the short-end of a 79-74 decision against U of T. Rookie
Carl Jacob (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) and
Ibrahim Ngom (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) were the only other Gaiters in double figures with 17 and 14 points respectively.
Yassin Naji (Lunel, France/Lycee Pothier Orleans) had 12 rebounds and Jacob added nine boards.

They Gaiters were only able to muster 12-second half points against the reigning national champions as they fell to the 107-53.
Abdul Kamane (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) scored 18 points and was the only Gaiter in double figures.

Kamane led the way with 25 points and 10 rebounds for a while Demosthene scored 24 points and grabbed 12 boards for Bishop's. Jacob added 15 points and Ngom 13 to round out the Gaiters in double figures.
The game was tight the whole way. Bishop's was up one after 10 minutes. Both teams scored 20 in the second stanza. That left the Gaiters with a 42-41 lead at the break. Again, the teams were even in the third and Acadia tied the game in the fourth. The first extra frame saw the Gaiters and Axemen each score seven points to force an additional five minutes where the Gaiters eventually scored the winning bucket and walked away with a 94-93 victory and a 1-2 record at their second pre-season tournament.
Jacob and Kamane earned tournament all-star nods.
