Box Score OTTAWA – The Bishop's Gaiters men's basketball team handed the Ottawa Gee Gees their first U SPORTS loss of the year with a 78-64 win in Montpetit Hall on Friday night.
Ibrahim Ngom (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) led the Gaiters with 15 points and six rebounds and
Connor Kelly (Brockville, Ont./St. Mary's C.S.S.) went 4-6 from beyond the arc for 13 points.
Yassin Naji (Lunel, France/Lycee Pothier Orleans) and rookie
Carl Jacob (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) each put up 11 points in 18 minutes on the floor.
After a tight first frame the Gaiters dominated the second quarter (22-6) to take a 40-22 lead into the half. The Gee Gees fought back in the third quarter, but still trailed by 13 with ten minutes to play. Ottawa got as close as two points with five minutes left, but the Gaiters held off their advances to solidify the 78-64 win.
