LENNOXVILLE, Que. – For the last time in 2019, the Bishop's Gaiters will step onto the Mitchell Gym floor when they host McGill on Thursday at 8 p.m. Bishop's enters this week's play as the No.9 ranked team in U SPORTS men's basketball.  They will also tipoff with the Laval Rouge et Or on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Quebec City.

The Gaiters opened the RSEQ season with a loss at Concordia last Thursday but backed it up with a victory over UQAM on Saturday.
 
Abdul Kamane (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) led the way in Thursday's loss with 25 points; he scored 14 in Saturday's win. Nervens Demosthene (Terrebonne, Que./Cegep de Montmorency) netted 22 on Saturday on 9-15 shooting as the Gaiters outlasted UQAM 78-76.

Like Bishop's, McGill enters the game at 1-1 in the RSEQ. They opened the season by rolling over Laval 101-78 then got beat handily by UQAM 94-71.
 
Jamall Mayali and Quarry Whyne each scored in double figures in both games for McGill while Sam Jenkins netted 36 points in the opening win but only scored five in the loss to UQAM.
 
Since 2013 McGill holds a 23-4 edge in the series, which includes a 3-1 record a year ago.

Nathan Grant enters his first-year as the Rouge et Or's bench boss. He is still in search of his first victory.  Laval has started the year 0-2 with losses to McGill and Concordia.
 
They take on UQAM on Thursday before hosting the Gaiters on Sunday at 3 p.m.
 
Christian Redmond-Kannon was the lone Laval player in double figures in both games for Laval. He scored 22 at McGill and 14 against Concordia.
 
Since 2013, Bishop's boast a 12-13 record against their rivals from the provincial capital, however have won the last two and took three of four a year ago.
 
Next Up
After the two games this week, Bishop's has one left before the Christmas break.  They travel to Montreal for a rematch with McGill on Nov. 30.
