LENNOXVILLE, Que. – The Bishop's Gaiters football team will host the Acadia Axemen on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. on Coulter Field.
 
All-Time
The Axemen are 5-0 all-time against Bishop's since the Gaiters joined the AUS in 2017. Prior to that, the Gaiters were 2-2 against Acadia in AUS-RSEQ interconference play.
 
Last Meeting
The Gaiters and the Axemen met in Acadia back on August 24^th to kickoff the 2019 AUS Season. The Axemen came away with the victory by a final score of 53-13.
 
Last Week
The Gaiters (2-2) had the week off as they were on their bye week. They were last in action two weeks ago when they were at home to the Mount Allison Mounties where they came away with a 27-23 victory to improve to 2-0 at Coulter Field. Quarterback Charles Aubry (Laval, Que./College Lionel-Groulx) was 14-31 for 230 yards, a pair of touchdowns, and one interception to lead the Gaiters offensively. On defense, the Gaiters defensive back Nick Cartagenise tied a team record three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
 
Meanwhile, Acadia (4-0), who comes into this game ranked number seven in the country, hosted the Mount Allison Mounties and came away with a 22-15 victory. Quarterback Hunter Guenard led the way for the Axemen going 18-34 for 177 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Dale Wright rushed the ball 23 times for 130 yards.
 
Homecoming
This clash between the Gaiters and the Axemen is a part of the 2019 Homecoming Weekend for the Bishop's Gaiters in which all five fall teams are in action at home.
