MONTREAL – The Bishop's Gaiters men's basketball team bounces back from two straight losses with a big win over the UQAM Citadins, winning by a final score of 87-71 on Thursday night.
How It Happened
For the third game in a row the Gaiters got off to a slow start and found themselves behind early, trailing 24-16 after the first quarter. Bishop's would respond with a great second quarter and found themselves in front by one point at halftime, due in large part to
Abdul Kamane's (Montreal, Que./Vanier College) 16 first half points to lead the Gaiters. The third quarter was a back and forth one, with no team able to grab control of the game but the Gaiters would hold onto a 61-59 lead heading into the final ten minutes. It would be all Bishop's from there as they outscored the Citadins 26-12 in the final quarter giving the Gaiters an 87-71 victory.
With the win, the Gaiters improve to 3-5 in RSEQ and jump back into fourth place, one game clear of Laval for the last playoff spot.
