Box Score MONTREAL – Despite a late fourth quarter surge from the Concordia Stingers, the Bishop's Gaiters women's basketball team was able to hold on for a 57-48 victory in Montreal.
How it Happened
Bishop's came out of the gate strong and jumped out to quick 15-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. After a bit of slow start the Stingers found some rhythm and started to chip away at the Gaiters lead in the second quarter, cutting the lead down to 28-23 at the half. The Gaiters then started to take control of the game in the third quarter outscoring the Stingers 19-11 to take a 47-34 lead into the final frame. The Stingers would fight right to the end cutting the lead down to seven points at one point in the quarter but would not get any closer as the Gaiters successfully weathered the storm and came away with a 57-49 victory.
The win improves Bishop's to 6-4 just one game behind the Laval Rouge et Or (7-3) for first place in the RSEQ.
