OTTAWA – The Bishop's Gaiters will face the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday at 5 p.m. in a consolation round match-up of the 2020 U SPORTS Men's Basketball Championships. They tip-off at the Ravens Nest on the Carleton University Campus.

Bishop's is 27-16 all-time against the Gee-Gees including 1-1 this year.

The Gaiters beat Ottawa 78-64 in a pre-season game at Ottawa.

The Gee-Gees held off Bishop's 77-73 in overtime at UQAM's Christmas tournament.

The last time Ottawa and Bishop's played at the U SPORTS nationals was 2015 in the first round in one of the most memorable games in recent history. The Gee-Gees ultimately pulled away to 91-85 overtime win at the Mattamy Athletic Centre at Ryerson University.

The Gaiters boast a pair of RSEQ all-stars in
Nervens Demosthene (Terrebonne, Que./Cegep de Montmorency) and
Abdul Kamane (Montreal, Que./Vanier College).
Carl Jacob (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) was a member of the RSEQ all-Rookie team.
For Ottawa Calvin Epistola was a U SPORTS first-team all-Canadian and an OUA first-team all-star, the only Gee-Gee earning an award.

The Gee-Gees finished the year at 18-4, good for second in the OUA East. They lost to the Carleton Ravens in an OUA semifinal, but earned their way to the U SPORTS Final 8 Championships as the tournament host.
Comfortable Nest
Bishop's is familiar with the Raven's Nest. They played a pre-season tournament in the facility in October and posted a 1-2 record. They lost to the University of Toronto and Carleton then beat Acadia in double overtime.
