The Bishop's Gaiters lacrosse team finished 2nd in the CUFLA East standings with a 7-3 record. They went on to defeat the Carleton Ravens by a score of 7-6 at Coulter Field on Oct. 29th in the playoffs. The win gives the Gaiters a spot in the 2022 CUFLA Baggataway Cup, where they will face the Brock Badgers. Brock was the team that eliminated the Gaiters in the 2021 Baggataway Cup, so Bishop's is seeking vengeance in their first matchup of the tournament. The Gaiters are led by top scorers Jacob Gasperetti (Ottawa, ON/Notre Dame H.S.), Antoine Tremblay (Calgary, AB/Central Memorial H.S.) and Hank Wulder (Victoria, BC/Claremont S.S.), who will be looking to continue to punish goalies a few more times. One of CUFLA's best faceoff men, Tyler Vosinek (St. Johnsbury, VT/Stanstead College), has been crucial in winning possession for the Gaiters while Sebastien Elie (Montreal, QC/Le Collège Brébeuf) holds it down in net. The big 3 on defense, who don't back down from anyone, are led by Karl Szabo (Quebec City, QC/Lawrenceville School). Faceoff is set for 7:30PM tonight, Friday Nov.4th. The semi-final will be on Saturday, Nov.5th at 4:30PM and the final on Sunday, Nov.6th at 2PM should the Gaiters make a run at the cup.
