Marco A. Briones (Monterrey, Mexico/) carried the ball 17 times for 124 yards to earn Subway Player of the Game honours as the Bishop's Gaiters topped Acadia 13-5 to open the 2022 AUS season. David Chaloux (Joliette, QC/Cégep régional de Lanaudière) was the second part of a two-headed rushing monster amassing 141 yards on 15 carries and scoring the game's lone touchdown.
 
It is the first time Bishop's has won their season opener since 2013.
