The Bishop's Gaiters women's soccer team battled to a pair of nil-nil draws this weekend. On Thursday, they hosted cross-town rival Sherbrooke and Sunday they traveled to Quebec City to face the No. 4 Laval Rouge et Or.
After losing their opening contest of the season to Sherbrooke, Bishop's bounced back with a solid effort on Thursday, anchored by Keeper
Ashley Pitcher (Ottawa, ON/John McCrae S.S.) who picked up the clean sheet.
On Sunday their counterparts were the nation's fourth-ranked team and a squad that was a perfect 8-0-0 heading into the contest. With Pitcher between the pipes once again, Bishop's left the provincial capital with a hard-fought 0-0 tie, their first points of any kind against the Quebec powerhouse since before 2004.
Bishop's (2-5-2), is back on the pitch on Friday when they host McGill (5-2-3) at 7 p.m.
