The Gaiters got a Wednesday rematch on Friday night, taking on the Ottawa Gee-Gees in their senior night and regular season finale. It was more of a tune-up game than anything, and the Gaiters returned previously injured forwards Ann-Sophie Bedard (/Cegep Limoilou) and Angelique Page. The game was relatively uneventful, with two quick goals scored in the opening frame. Ottawa founf the back of the net in the second period and closed it out, holding a 2-1 lead after 2. The Gaiters responded with a goal of their own in the third, and this one would need OT. Neither team could find the answer in the extra time, and so the crowd witnessed the first-ever RSEQ shootout in Jane & Eric Molson Arena. It could not have been more fitting than for the captain and senior, Marie-Camille Theoret, to bury the winner. The Gaiters escaped and took this one, 3-2 in a shootout. 

How it Happened... 
… Aglae Rene de Cotret was incredible, racking up 46 saves on 48 shots 
… Savana Cianci (/John Abbott College) scored her first-ever U SPORTS goal and added an assist for a 2-point night 
… The captain and senior, Marie-Camille Theoret scored the shootout winner with a beautiful shot 
… Majorie Bolduc (Saint-Ephrem-de-Beauce, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) buried the first of two Gaiters goals 

Next Up 
Time for the playoffs in the RSEQ. The Gaiters will head to Montreal on Thursday night for game one of the best-of-three series with Concordia. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm from Ed Meagher Arena.
